Microchipping

Our practice philosophy is to always to put the welfare of our patient first and help our clients navigate through the different treatment options to find the one that is best for them and their pet.

Pet Microchipping

A microchip is permanent method of identification for your pet. The chip is the size of a grain of rice and is installed using a needle just under skin between the shoulder blades.

Each chip and hence each animal has a unique identification number that can be detected using a microchip scanner. The unique identification number can identify the animal and is linked to the owner’s contacts details that are held in a secure online registry. If your pet wanders off and is found by a stranger, they can take the pet to any vet, animal shelter or local council who can scan the chip and contact you to re-unite you with your pet.

Our veterinarians are accredited to microchip your pets and our service includes lifetime registration with a microchip database register.
